how i got here
Spending the first 28 years of my professional life on the street as a police officer then a Private Investigator, my stepson died suddenly in 2000 which led to an about-face in life and the subsequent call to Ministry.
Working through a smaller denomination which arose from the United Church of Canada as an Ordained Minister, it quickly became clear that people just aren’t interested in the traditional church's approach of being "preached at," or of being accused of being “a sinner” just for living, any more than I was.
PHILOSOPHY
Taking that to heart, I came to reject the rote religiosity of “unworthiness” and instead embraced the more welcoming philosophy of spirituality.
As a post-denominational Minister, I left the institutional dogmas of the traditional church behind in favour of Christian spirituality.
Having said that, I still respect everyone's right to their own religion or spiritual path, as long as they don't promote harming others.
Additionally, if a family prefers a traditional service for a life event, l am quite happy to oblige. It’s about the family, not me.
