AN OVERVIEW

An EMERGENCY SERVICES CHAPLAIN provides critical emotional support, confidential listening and trauma-informed crisis intervention
to police, fire, nurses, EMTs and dispatch.

Everything is confidential.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• ON-SCENE CRISIS RESPONSE: Assisting citizens and families affected by tragic events while emergency crews focus on operational duties. 

• RESPONDER CARE: Acting as a confidential, non-judgmental sounding board outside the formal chain of command to help manage cumulative stress and trauma. 

• FAMILY and DEATH SUPPORT: Assisting with traumatic death notifications, hospital visits for injured personnel, and memorial or funeral services. 

• PROFESSIONAL REFERRALS: Connecting emergency workers and citizens to specialised mental health professionals or community resources when long-term care is needed.
